Peterson Control Union’s scope of activities has expanded over the years. Having started out as a traditional inspection company, today we offer a fourth-party logistics services with a global operations network.
Logistics Services
Although the inspection of agricultural products remains one of our core activities, we strengthened our position in the agricultural sector to include logistics services. We were among the first to identify a growing need among clients to focus efforts on their core business and as a consequence, to outsource large parts of their logistical processes. Today, we are specialists in the management of all aspects of the logistics chain.
4PL
The 4pl concept is becoming increasingly important as already highly volatile freight and fuel rates are showing an upward trend.
Our services include collateral management, tracking and tracing, the chartering of any mode of transport, the inspection of cargo holds, the inspection of cargo, laboratory services, ship agency services, customs import/export formalities, stevedoring, storage and stock control.
Our worldwide network of laboratories expanded in recent years and is ready to deal with the growing production and demand of bio-fuels.
Standards and Codes of Practice
Several different standards or codes of practice have been designed by non-governmental organisations, producers organisations, importers, retailers consortia and/or government bodies representing consumers. The principles they have defined generally cover on-farm and post-production processes, organic or otherwise, and guarantee safe and healthy food and non-food agricultural products, while taking into account economical, social and environmental sustainability.
